Nicole Scherzinger

Her full name is Nicole Elikolani Prescovia Scherzinger and she was born June 29, 1978). Nicole is an American singer and dancer best known for her work as the lead vocalist for The Pussycat Dolls.

Nicole Scherzinger was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to a Filipino father and a Hawaiian/Russian mother. She grew up in Louisville, Kentucky with stepfather Gary Scherzinger, mother Rosemary and sister Ke'ala. She began her life as a performer in Louisville, attending the Youth Performing Arts School at duPont Manual High School and performing with Actors Theatre of Louisville. Scherzinger majored in theater arts at Wright State University, but put her studies on hold in 1999 to sing backing vocals for the rock band Days of the New.

In June 2003, following her stint with Eden's Crush, Nicole Scherzinger joined The Pussycat Dolls burlesque troupe, who were being re-cast as recording artists. She had first seen them performing on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2002, where Carmen Electra sang "Big Spender" from the Bob Fosse musical Sweet Charity. In 2006, Nicole Scherzinger said "It caught my eye because I’d played Velma Kelly in Chicago in college."

Nicole Scherzinger is the only group member with songwriting credits on this album; she co-wrote "I Don't Need a Man" with Kara DioGuardi and producer Rich Harrison, and co-wrote "Buttons" with producer Sean Garrett. Another collaboration with DioGuardi, "Flirt", became "Stickwitu" B-side and a bonus track on PCD.

Nicole Scherzinger was once engaged to lead singer of the 311, Nick Hexum. She appeared in the video for their hit song "Amber". Hexum produced the song that Scherzinger sang on for the 50 First Dates soundtrack, as they were still dating at the time. Eventually, the two decided to go separate ways as her career was starting to take off, and 311's tour schedule was growing more demanding. In November 2006 it was reported she is dating rapper 50 Cent.
